Clarissa Eaton is the artistic director and choreographer for L'Ecole de Ballet.  Her classical training began with Wayne Stewarte formerly with the Royal Ballet.  She participated in the Royal Academy of Dance program, and later continued her training at the Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts where she studied jazz and modern dance in addition to classical ballet.  She has studied also in London, Paris, and at the Joffrey School of Ballet in New York City.

A Company member of the Dance Prism for the past twenty-five years, Clarissa also serves as assistant to its directors.  She is a rehearsal coach for the Dance Prism's annual productions of "The Nutcracker" and "Alice in Wonderland".  She has taught students of all ages and levels at several area ballet schools, including The Ballet Academy of Concord, and Bay State Ballet Theater School.  In addition to her teaching background in classical ballet, Clarissa has extensive experience working with preschoolers, and is qualified as an Early Childhood teacher.  She is therefore able to tailor pre-ballet classes to fit the needs and capabilities of preschool children.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mary Demaso’s background includes the unusual combination of dance and academics: she has studied ballet with a wide variety of teachers in the New England and New York areas, and has studied literature at Simmons College and Brown University.  She is currently Artistic Director and Principal Choreographer for Dance Prism.

Brenda Lavin is a dedicated and understanding teacher of both children and adults.  She has studied dance for over 20 years, most recently at L’Ecole de Ballet, and The Ballet Academy of Concord.  Over the past 6 years she has added jazz and musical theater to her dance training, performing musical theater with Concord Players, Burlington Players and Reagle Players in Waltham.  This along with her ballet background has added great depth to her teaching style.  Brenda has the ability to work creative, original ideas into a stable, proficient curriculum - just the perfect dance environment for children.

 

 

Lindsey Lavin has been a student at L’Ecole for 16 years, and a has taught tap and Jazz here for the past 3 years.  She has a solid background in many styles of dance, and experience with a variety of instructors including Mary Demaso, Miranda Bailey and Scott Ranagan, as well as classes in New York with David Howard and Dorit Koppel.  She has studied tap with Michael Schuster; a renowned New York teacher and choreographer whose "goal is to grow tap dance programs and certify teachers around the world to make tap dance accessible to all"  Lindsey is an apprentice with Dance Prism, most recently performing the coveted role of Clara, in “The Nutcracker

Tiana Eaton is thrilled to continue and expand  the hip-hop program she pioneered last season.  Tiana has worked as a teacher at L'Ecole de Ballet for 2 years, and as an assistant for 5 years.  She loves all styles of dance and has 16 years of experience in Ballet, as well as extensive training in Jazz, tap, and hip -hop.  Since Hip-hop is a constantly changing and evolving dance style. Tiana continues to study in New York City with such teachers as Chio, Brian Thomas, Kelly Peters, and Bev Brown. 

Jodi Leigh Allen received her B.F.A. in Dance Performance from Shenandoah University in Virginia and her M.F.A. in Dance and Choreography from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Ms. Allen has performed in Julie Taymor’s Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute) as well as Romeo et Juliette at The Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. She has been a member of Malashock Dance and Company in California, is a current member of Guidance Inc., and was privileged to study and perform the tango with actor Robert Duvall. Her choreography has been performed at The American College Dance Festival's National Gala at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as well as other venues both nationally and internationally. She is former Director of Dance for The Pomfret School in Connecticut. Ms. Allen can be seen teaching and choreographing at such academic institutions as Harvard University, Keene State College, Groton School, as well as the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School.

 

Sasha Lunev first trained at the Vagonova School in Leningrad USSR. He then, among many other achievements, became a principal dancer at the Kirov Ballet, and later at Boston Ballet, and Houston Ballet.  Now he works with figure skaters to improve their ballet technique and grace, and teaches ballet master classes throughout Massachusetts.  He also performs as a guest artist for Houston Ballet’s Nutcracker.

 

Scott Ranagan a gifted choreographer as well as an exciting dancer, studied principally with E. Virginia Williams at the Boston School of Ballet and Mary Day at the school of the Washington Ballet. He performed in numerous company productions of the Boston Ballet Ensemble prior to becoming co-artistic director of the Dance Prism.  As a choreographer he has created more than twenty-five original works for Prism.  He most recently served as Artistic Director for Canyon City Ballet Co.  Happily, Scott will now be available as a guest teacher.

 

Teaching assistants are carefully selected from the advanced level classes as aids for the teachers.  They have all either completed, or are in the process of completing L’Ecole de Ballet’s Teacher Training course.
