STUDENT INFORMATION
MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
Partial scholarships for the following year are awarded to a limited number of students at the annual performance. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Evidence of technical progress,
A dedication to dance,
The willingness to learn,
Exhibit talent and potential,
Excellent attendance
Attend more than one class/week.
Perfect attendance:
The staff understands that this is a difficult accomplishment, especially as students mature and advance, sometimes taking as many as 6 classes a week! We do have classes on MLK JR. Day, Rosh Hashanah, and Good Friday. We respect people’s religious and scheduling choices, and certainly do not penalize students who cannot attend class on these days. However, perfect attendance is only awarded to students who make it to every scheduled class.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
L'Ecole de Ballet is not responsible for the loss of personal property. There is however, a lost and found box located in the studio. Please put your name in all dancewear, since everyone wears similar attire.
COMMUNICATION
In the office there will be a box containing memos and other notices. Although I hand them out in class, please check this box periodically to ensure that you have not missed any important communications.
TUITION AND FEES
Tuition is for an 8-week term, except for term 4, which varies from 8 to 12 weeks, depending upon the day your class meets. All holidays will be credited in term 4, week long vacations (in December, February, and April) are not counted in the term. Tuition is due before the term begins, you will receive a bill in the mail prior to terms 2, 3 and 4. The Term 2 bill contains the costume deposit, and Term 3 bill includes a commitment fee that is applied to a video or DVD of the recital.
Dancers will be required to purchase one costume per class. Thus a student who attends two classes a week will have two costumes. Students will be scheduled for either one or two performances depending on their age and level.
